Job Title: Agriculture Instructor – August 2017
Job Description: Full-time, nine-month faculty position starting August 2017.
Pratt Community College’s Agriculture Program is strategically focused on enhancing precision agriculture, agribusiness, economic viability, and improving the quality of life within the region.
We seek an innovative—mission driven—Agriculture instructor who is experienced with teaching introductory level agronomy & agribusiness coursework; plant, range, horticulture & soil sciences; crop production, agricultural marketing, economics & agribusiness concepts.
Course loads include both lectures and laboratories related to agronomy & agribusiness curriculum within the Agriculture program framework. The candidate is also expected to develop online or face-to-face courses that enhance the current curriculum and maximize transferability to four year institutions. Student advising/mentoring, training of judging teams, & public service are further expectations for this position. Ideal candidates will be business savvy, have experience teaching, & the ability to foster new and sustain current industry partnerships.

Agriculture Instructor/Farm & Ranch Management Coordinator
Responsibilities (just a few – view complete list at the link below)
• Teach assigned courses in Farm and Ranch Management program and transfer agriculture courses. Teaching assignments may include evening courses or off-campus and teaching via alternative delivery systems such as online.
• Recruit students to college Agriculture and Ag-Diesel programs. This includes meetings with students who come for campus visits; develop recruitment brochures/mailings/displays/letters as needed.
• Coach Crops and Soils judging teams and select/coordinate intercollegiate competition participation.
• Assist the Department Chair in the oversight of the college greenhouse operations/staff.

• Master’s degree in an Agriculture-related field required.
• College teaching experience preferred.
• Experience in student recruitment preferred.
SALARY and STATUS:
The salary is determined per the 2017-2018 Hiring Salary Schedule in the local HutchCC Master Agreement. This full-time faculty position is nine months annual (based on contract renewal), due process rights eligible, benefit eligible, and exempt.
