Extension Director – Rice County (Lyons)

MANHATTAN, Kan. –Wendy Hughes will begin serving as the Rice County Extension Director, effective June 4, 2017. Rice County’s office is in Lyons.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences and Industry from Kansas State University.

Hughes has most recently been the 4-H Program Assistant for Rice County.

Hughes will provide administrative leadership for educational programming, fiscal operations, personnel and marketing.

Extension Agent – Sunflower District (Goodland)

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Jori Steele will join the staff of K-State Research and Extension as the Sunflower District 4-H Youth Development Agent, effective July 2, 2017. Sunflower District has offices in Goodland, Sharon Springs and St. Francis.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from the University of Wyoming.

Steele most recently worked as an Office Administrator for McCarty Family Farms in Colby, KS.

Extension Agent – Pottawatomie County (Westmoreland)

MANHATTAN, Kan. –Shannon Blocker will begin serving as the Pottawatomie County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent, effective June 4, 2017. Pottawatomie County’s office is in Westmoreland.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education and a master’s degree in Agronomy, both from Kansas State University.

Blocker has most recently been the Horticulture Extension Agent in the Frontier Extension District.

Extension Agent – Johnson Co. (Olathe)

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Lee Sigley will join the staff of K-State Research and Extension as the Johnson County 4-H Youth Development Agent, effective March 12, 2017. Johnson County’s office is in Olathe.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from the University of Kansas. Sigley most recently worked the Director of Operations for the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, KS.

 

 

Extension Agent – McPherson County (McPherson)

MANHATTAN, Kan. –Shad Marston will begin serving as the McPherson County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent, effective June 4, 2017. McPherson County’s office is in McPherson.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences and Industry from Kansas State University.

Marston has most recently been the Agriculture Educator at Moundridge High School in Moundridge, Kansas.

Extension Agent- Golden Prairie District (Wakeeney) – Livestock Production

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kylie Jones will join the staff of K-State Research and Extension as the Golden Prairie District Livestock Production Agent, effective March 12, 2017. Golden Prairie has offices in WaKeeney, Gove and Oakley.  Jones will be working out of the WaKeeney location.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Fort Hays State University. Jones most recently worked as a Student Assistant for the Beef Division of Fort Hays State University.
