Extension Agent – Greenwood County (Eureka)

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Jayne Whitson will begin serving as a Greenwood County Extension Agent, effective July 23, 2017. Greenwood County’s office is in Eureka.

She earned her bachelor’s degrees in Graphic Design and her master’s in Speech and Theater-Costume Design from Kansas State University.

Whitson has previous experience as a communications specialist, event planner and a project manager.

Job Title: Agriculture Instructor – August 2017
Job Description: Full-time, nine-month faculty position starting August 2017.

Pratt Community College’s Agriculture Program is strategically focused on enhancing precision agriculture, agribusiness, economic viability, and improving the quality of life within the region.


We seek an innovative—mission driven—Agriculture instructor who is experienced with teaching introductory level agronomy & agribusiness coursework; plant, range, horticulture & soil sciences; crop production, agricultural marketing, economics & agribusiness concepts.

Course loads include both lectures and laboratories related to agronomy & agribusiness curriculum within the Agriculture program framework. The candidate is also expected to develop online or face-to-face courses that enhance the current curriculum and maximize transferability to four year institutions. Student advising/mentoring, training of judging teams, & public service are further expectations for this position. Ideal candidates will be business savvy, have experience teaching, & the ability to foster new and sustain current industry partnerships.
