Job Salary: Salary is based on experience and level of education. District pays for a single health care coverage through Blue Cross and Blue Shield. District also offers medical reimbursement program, 403b, and dental/eye insurance through a cafeteria pre-tax plan.

Agriculture Teacher – Onaga High School

Job Title: Agriculture / Science Teacher

Job Description:
Onaga USD 322 is currently accepting applications for an agriculture education teacher with a science endorsement at Onaga High School for the 2018-2019 school year. Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Kansas teaching license in agricultural education and already have or are interested in getting a science endorsement.  The district would pay for the cost of a praxis test for the right candidate.

Onaga High School has a strong FFA chapter and an excellent agriculture education department that delivers a diverse, comprehensive and rigorous curriculum. We offer agriculture education classes (7-12) in six different pathways:  Power, Structural and Technical Systems; Agricultural Science; Plant Systems; Natural Resources and Environmental Systems; Animal Science; and Agribusiness Systems.

There is some flexibility in agriculture courses taught next school year as enrollment will dictate curricular offerings.  Current class offerings include:  Agriculture Explorations, Animal Science, Horticulture, Ag. Communications and Leadership, Food Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Mechanics, Advanced Agricultural Mechanics, Ag Structures & Electricity, Agriscience, and Wildlife and Natural Resources Management.  Outside of agriculture courses, there would also be a few lower level science courses taught by this teacher.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong FFA background and interest in fulfilling the three-circle model of classroom/laboratory, FFA and SAE.

This position is grades 8-12 with courses taught at Newton High School and a possible course offering at the middle level. A 7-12 teaching license is required. Possible courses include Animal Science, Introductory Ag, Pre-vocational Welding and any other ag-related course offering.
